I actually have received some mail since my last blog post. However, instead of doing a post for every individual item (I got one thing each week), I’ve decided to make a post at the end of the month that shows all of the mail. I have had free time, but I haven’t done anything baseball-related, so there isn’t much to blog about (don’t you just love the offseason?).
The first thing I got was something I sent out in February to Scottsdale, for Rockies 1B/C/3B Jordan Pacheco. I thought it was an autograph from Josh Hamilton, who holds all of his mail until December. Here is the autograph:
Jordan signed my 2012 Topps very nicely in black sharpie.
TTM Autograph #21 in 2013
Sent: February 16, 2013
Received: December 14, 2013- 301 Days *NEW RECORD*- Longest return time (broken about two weeks later…)
The next thing I got was a fan pack. I sent some e-mails out in late November for any remaining 2013 pocket schedules, and the Marlins sent me some. Here is what I got:
Marlins Licence Plate information
3 Pocket Schedules
The Marlins are always good about sending me fan packs (unlike my Red Sox- they haven’t sent me anything in about a year), and I appreciate it.
Sent: November 24, 2013
Received: December 16, 2013- 22 Days
As I said, Josh Hamilton signs all of his mail in December, and the record that Jordan Pacheco set was broken by none other than Mr. Hamilton:
I think this autograph stands out better than the Pacheco signature.
TTM Autograph #22 in 2013
Sent: February 11, 2013
Received: December 23, 2013- 315 Days *NEW RECORD*- Longest return time
I’m glad Josh actually signs things for his fans. Most of the stars these days are hard to get autographs from. Thanks to Jordan, Josh, and the Marlins, and thanks for reading!
Goals- 2014 (January 1)
Souvenirs- 2013 (this weekend)
I apologize for the delay! School work has taken up a lot of my time! Anyways, I have a couple of TTM things to blog about- the first coming from the Delmarva Shorebirds:
(Sorry about the poor quality)
1 Issue of “Play Ball”- Gameday Magazine
6 Baseball Cards
15 Pocket Schedules- from 2011 to 2013
Sent: July 28, 2013
Received: October 7, 2013- 71 Days
The Shorebirds always send me a lot of pocket schedules- the sent me 21 at one point! Thanks to the Shorebirds!
The next item comes from perhaps the best TTM signer in the game- Pat Neshek:
Sent: October 12, 2013
Received: October 18, 2013- 6 Days- TIED his own record for quickest return time- signed in blue on a 2013 Topps Heritage card.
Pat is one of my favorite players, probably because he is so good to his fans. He will take the time to sign 20 cards if you send him that many, and, a couple of times, he actually sent me some baseball cards (7, to be exact)! Thanks to Mr. Neshek!
I will have at least two more posts up in 2013- a season recap (which, I know, I said I would write last month) and some goals for 2014. Other posts could include some baseball card pack breaks and other mail items. Thanks for reading!
I haven’t had much mail recently, partly because I just finished requesting fan packs from every baseball team. I didn’t want to ask twice in a month and sound too greedy.
The first success came from a Miami Marlins pitcher by the name of Steve Cishek:
This is actually my first success from a Marlin in a year, despite sending several players letters.
Sent: July 30, 2013
Received: September 9, 2013- 41 Days
TTM Autograph #18 this season (I haven’t been busy with TTM)
The next autograph came from someone that has sent me several items- Jed Lowrie:
Sent: September 5, 2013
Received: September 20, 2013- 15 Days
TTM Autograph # 19 this season
That is it for mail. I will start sending out some fan pack requests soon. Thanks for reading!
2013 Season Recap- October
Mail (IF I get any)- Whenever
I am WAY behind on the blog, as I am two posts back. Let’s get started.
The Rome Braves sent a fan pack and I got it on July 22nd. However, I can’t find it the pictures, and because I am already far behind, I will list what I got.
- 3 2013 Pocket Schedules
- 2 Mascot Cards
- 1 10th anniversary patch
- 1 2013 magnetic schedule
- 1 Gameday magazine
- 2 Post cards
Two days later, on the 24th, I received a fan pack from the Miami Marlins:
- 1 2013 Magnetic Schedule
- 1 Bumper Sticker
This is a licence plate advertisement. I have some of these from several teams.
- “On Deck- July”- The Marlins game-day magazine
- Justin Ruggiano P.C.
- Marcell Ozuna P.C.- I got his autograph when he was a Hammerhead (which was last year)
- A.J. Ramos P.C.
Little League Magazine (??)- A little weird getting this in a fan pack, but keep in mind, it came from the Marlins. You don’t know what to expect from them. The next fan pack came on August 1st:
The Fort Wayne Tin Caps sent me a couple pocket schedules. The Cedar Rapids Kernels also sent a fan pack, and I got it on August 1st as well:
1 2011 Suite Ticket Stub
Ozzie Lugo Player Card
Here is the note they added:
I wanted to include the address in the picture, just in case anyone wanted it. The next fan pack was actually my first ever from the Northwest League; this one coming from the Everett Aquasox:
The Aquasox sent me these pocket schedules. I was happy to finally get something that league.
Sent: August 2, 2013
Received: August 7, 2013- 5 Days
The Tri-City Valley Cats are great senders, so I was excited to find a fan pack from them in the mail. Here is what they sent:
– Magnetic Schedule
– Gameday Magazine
– HOF card- John Joseph Evers
– 2013 Pocket Schedule
Sent: July 28, 2013
Received: August 9, 2013- 12 Days
If you’ve been reading this blog since it began back in January, you might have noticed a lot of fan packs from the Clearwater Threshers- that’s because they send me their program, “Thresher Times”. I don’t know why, but I want every issue of it. Here is one of the fan packs they sent me:
– 2013 Pocket Schedules, Ticket info
A new issue of Thresher Times!
– Sent: July 28, 2013
– Received: August 12, 2013- 15 Days
The next item wasn’t a fan pack- it was an autograph, coming from Royal Jeremy Guthrie:
I sent this out in APRIL hoping it would be a quick return, and when I found this in the mailbox, I noticed it came from Detroit. Turns out, the Royals were playing in Detroit when I got this:
Sent: April 13, 2013
Received: August 21, 2013- 130 Days (3 days short of setting the record for longest return time)
The final thing in this post came from Roger Dean Stadium- you might remember that name from other posts on this blog. I read online that they were sending mini-pennants and baseball caps, so I told them that I live 30 minutes away and that I go to a bunch of games there. Here is what they sent:
2013 Magnetic Schedule- already had it
4 baseball cards that I didn’t previously own
Gameday Magazine- you will see it in another post. I’m still happy to get this stuff for free, considering the amount of stuff I buy up there.
That is it for this post. I went to a baseball game on the 11th (over a month ago) at Roger Dean Stadium, and I have some mail (not as much as Aug.) in September to recap next week, so stay tuned! Thanks for reading, and thanks to the generous baseball teams for the fan packs!
Sorry this post is up so late!
Way back in April, I sent Heath Bell a baseball card in hopes of my third TTM autograph from him. I started to wonder if it got lost in the mail, because he normally returns quickly. I was happy to find this in the mail on June 14th:
Heath signed a 2013 Topps Heritage for me, but he signed it sideways. I wonder if he is trying to start a trend?
Sent: April 27, 2013
Received: June 14, 2013- 48 Days: Officially my longest return time from Heath
That was all the mail I got, and despite requesting nearly 100 fan packs from the Majors to AA ball, I didn’t get any mail last week. Check back soon for posts on Tropicana Field, Busch Gardens, and a replacement for last week’s mail post! Thanks for reading!
If you might have noticed, I haven’t been getting much mail lately. I have been way behind on fan pack requests and I had several TTM requests that were out for a while. I was hoping for more mail, and I got it this week.
On June 3rd, I found two autographs in the mail. One of them was from Dallas, TX, which was weird considering I hadn’t mailed anything to the Rangers this season. It turns out the autograph was from Spring Training:
I sent this card to David Murphy back in February, and I was wondering where it could have been. I read online that he signs autographs TTM, so it was a little weird getting this in June- but I was happy to get it.
Sent: Feb. 12, 2013
Received: Jun 3, 2013- 111 Days, which is now my longest return time
The other autograph I got was from a former Red Sox and a current Athletic, Jed Lowrie:
I previously got this from him. This was a pretty nice autograph- if you look closely, he signed his Rookie Card.
Sent: May 25, 2013
Received: Jun 3, 2013- 9 Days
On my last day of 10th grade, June 6th, I came home to find two fan packs in the mail, and they came from the Red Sox and Yankees AA teams, the Sea Dogs and the Thunder:
They both sent identical fan packs, and even the dates are identical:
Sent: Jun 1, 2013
Received: Jun 6, 2013- 5 Days
Sent: Jun 1, 2013
Received: Jun 6, 2013- 5 Days
Last but not least, I got a fan pack from the Chicago White Sox on the 8th:
That is something from Lynn University covering my address. That was the closest thing to me.
– Pride Club
– Southpaw Appearances
– Publication Order Form
– Kids Club Membership (no, I didn’t get into Pride Club or a Kids Membership for free)
– A note thanking me for my interest in the White Sox
– Two Pocket Schedules
– One Sticker
I love the design of the White Sox pocket schedules this season. I have Alexi Ramirez, Adam Dunn, and now two Jake Peavy schedules.
Sent: Jun 2, 2013
Received: Jun 8, 2013- 6 Days
Thanks for reading, and thanks to Jed Lowrie, David Murphy, the SeaDogs, Thunder, and White Sox! I will have a post up about a some-what fun yet some-what crappy visit to Tropicana Field and a post about Busch Gardens- Tampa up soon.
I would like to start by saying Happy Mothers Day! I don’t know where I would be without my Mom, and I know you probably think the same. I would also like to apologize for this post being up really late. I did get mail, but I don’t know why I didn’t blog about it. I also got mail last week (5/5-5/11), so expect something this week.
I was a little shocked that some players didn’t return their requests, like David Murphy, Max Scherzer, and Adam Lind, and when I got this, I was expecting a Jeremy Guthrie autograph. I made a second request to him, and I thought it was his when I confused MI with MO on the envelope. Here is what I pulled out:
It is a long letter that basically says “please donate $10 to my charity for an autograph”. I wonder how many little kids get this back saying, “Where is my autograph?” I am not spending $10 on an autograph when I could go to a Tigers game and get his for FREE. Sorry Max.
Luckily, he sent my card back:
It is a card from the 2009 Topps set, which I didn’t get a lot of in 2009 and can’t find today.
That was all I got. Last week had a better result, and hopefully this week will be the same. I am also planning on going to Marlins Park in a week to see the Dbacks, and if I can’t go, I will be in Jupiter to see the Hammerheads and the Cardinals. This June, I will make my way to Tampa/St. Pete to go to Busch Gardens with my family, and I am hoping to catch the Sox while I’m there. Thanks for reading!
I haven’t been getting a lot of mail recently, and this week (4/20-4/27) I didn’t get anything. Here is what I got last week:
It looks like it was autographed in black, but it is really in blue ink. Jed Lowrie signed a 2011 Topps card, and he sent a card for his website:
Sent: 4/6/2013, Received: 4/17/2013, 11 Days
Thanks to Jed Lowrie!
I will have the post from Sunday’s game up shortly.
I haven’t posted anything in a while, and I already have a lot of stuff to post. I know that the 30th and the 6th are both Saturdays, but I haven’t talked about the autograph I received on the 30th:
This is from Travis Snider. I didn’t know if I was going to get this autograph back, so I was glad to find it in my mailbox. Unfortunately, he signed it in ballpoint ink:
Sent: February 16, 2013
Received: March 30, 2013- 42 Days
The other mail I got that week was from the Tri-City Valley Cats. I previously sent them a request for pocket schedules, but because they are a Class A- SS team, I assumed they didn’t have great fan packs (or fan packs at all). Then, I read a post on 7000 Coliseum Way about a Valley Cats fan pack, and I needed one. This is what I got:
They sent some awesome stuff:
– 2013 Calendar
– 2012 Team Yearbook
– H.O.F. Card- John Joseph Evers
I went to another high school game and I got some more mail, but not from teams or players. It is baseball-related mail, though. Thanks for reading, and thanks to Travis Snider and the Tri-City Valley Cats!
I only got one autograph this past week, and it came from the Indians ace:
I think the Indians will do a lot better this season because 2-time World Series winning manager in Terry Francona is now the skipper of the ball club.
Sent: February 12, 2013
Received: March 23, 2013- 39 Days
Thanks to Justin Masterson!
