Mail- December

I actually have received some mail since my last blog post. However, instead of doing a post for every individual item (I got one thing each week), I’ve decided to make a post at the end of the month that shows all of the mail. I have had free time, but I haven’t done anything baseball-related, so there isn’t much to blog about (don’t you just love the offseason?).

The first thing I got was something I sent out in February to Scottsdale, for Rockies 1B/C/3B Jordan Pacheco. I thought it was an autograph from Josh Hamilton, who holds all of his mail until December. Here is the autograph:

Jordan signed my 2012 Topps very nicely in black sharpie.

Signed 1/1

TTM Autograph #21 in 2013

Sent: February 16, 2013

Received: December 14, 2013- 301 Days *NEW RECORD*- Longest return time (broken about two weeks later…)

The next thing I got was a fan pack. I sent some e-mails out in late November for any remaining 2013 pocket schedules, and the Marlins sent me some. Here is what I got:

Marlins Licence Plate information

3 Pocket Schedules

The Marlins are always good about sending me fan packs (unlike my Red Sox- they haven’t sent me anything in about a year), and I appreciate it.

Sent: November 24, 2013

Received: December 16, 2013- 22 Days

As I said, Josh Hamilton signs all of his mail in December, and the record that Jordan Pacheco set was broken by none other than Mr. Hamilton:

I think this autograph stands out better than the Pacheco signature.

Signed 1/1

TTM Autograph #22 in 2013

Sent: February 11, 2013

Received: December 23, 2013- 315 Days *NEW RECORD*- Longest return time

I’m glad Josh actually signs things for his fans. Most of the stars these days are hard to get autographs from. Thanks to Jordan, Josh, and the Marlins, and thanks for reading!

Mail- Week of 11/24-11/30

After over a month of waiting for something in the mail, I got something from the Tri-City Valley Cats on Friday the 29th. The Valley Cats have always sent me some cool stuff- you can read about some previous posts here and here.

1 2013 Pocket Schedule

1 John Joseph Evers Hall of Fame card

2013 Magnetic Schedule

Gameday Program- August/September

2013 NYPL Champions Team Photo

Unfortunately, the team photo was a little beat-up by the time it got into my mailbox:

I think teams should start writing “handle with care” or “do not bend” on the packages to ensure nothing is damaged.

Sent: October 5, 2013

Received: November 29, 2013- 55 Days

Thanks to the Tri-City Valley Cats for the fan pack! Thanks for reading!

Mail- October

I apologize for the delay! School work has taken up a lot of my time! Anyways, I have a couple of TTM things to blog about- the first coming from the Delmarva Shorebirds:

(Sorry about the poor quality)

1 Issue of “Play Ball”- Gameday Magazine

6 Baseball Cards

15 Pocket Schedules- from 2011 to 2013

Sent: July 28, 2013

Received: October 7, 2013- 71 Days

The Shorebirds always send me a lot of pocket schedules- the sent me 21 at one point! Thanks to the Shorebirds!

The next item comes from perhaps the best TTM signer in the game- Pat Neshek:

Neshek 10-18-13

Sent: October 12, 2013

Received: October 18, 2013- 6 Days- TIED his own record for quickest return time- signed in blue on a 2013 Topps Heritage card.

Pat is one of my favorite players, probably because he is so good to his fans. He will take the time to sign 20 cards if you send him that many, and, a couple of times, he actually sent me some baseball cards (7, to be exact)! Thanks to Mr. Neshek!

I will have at least two more posts up in 2013- a season recap (which, I know, I said I would write last month) and some goals for 2014. Other posts could include some baseball card pack breaks and other mail items. Thanks for reading!

Mail- 9/29 to 10/5

I haven’t been getting much mail lately, but I recently sent out some requests for fan packs to some minor league teams. I did, however, send the Colorado Springs SkySox a fan pack request with a SASE instead of an email. On October 5th, I got what I was looking for:

3 2013 Pocket Schedules

Sox the Fox Baseball Card- Autographed!

Sent: September 28, 2013

Received: October 5, 2013- 7 Days

Most teams will tell you to send a SASE for pocket schedules, and the SkySox are one of those teams. Thanks to the SkySox, and thanks for reading!

Mail- 7/22/2013 through 8/31/2013

I am WAY behind on the blog, as I am two posts back.  Let’s get started.

The Rome Braves sent a fan pack and I got it on July 22nd. However, I can’t find it the pictures, and because I am already far behind, I will list what I got.

  • 3 2013 Pocket Schedules
  • 2 Mascot Cards
  • 1 10th anniversary patch
  • 1 2013 magnetic schedule
  • 1 Gameday magazine
  • 2 Post cards

Two days later, on the 24th, I received a fan pack from the Miami Marlins:

Miami 7-24

  • 1 2013 Magnetic Schedule
  • 1 Bumper Sticker

Miami 7-24 (2)

This is a licence plate advertisement. I have some of these from several teams.

Miami 7-24 (3)

  • “On Deck- July”- The Marlins game-day magazine

Miami 7-24 (4)

  • Justin Ruggiano P.C.
  • Marcell Ozuna P.C.- I got his autograph when he was a Hammerhead (which was last year)

Miami 7-24 (5)

  • A.J. Ramos P.C.

Miami 7-24 (6)

Little League Magazine (??)- A little weird getting this in a fan pack, but keep in mind, it came from the Marlins. You don’t know what to expect from them. The next fan pack came on August 1st:

Ft Wayne Tin Caps 8-1

The Fort Wayne Tin Caps sent me a couple pocket schedules. The Cedar Rapids Kernels also sent a fan pack, and I got it on August 1st as well:

Cedar Rapids 8-1

1 2011 Suite Ticket Stub

Ozzie Lugo Player Card

Pocket Schedule

Here is the note they added:

Cedar Rapids 8-1 (2)

I wanted to include the address in the picture, just in case anyone wanted it. The next fan pack was actually my first ever from the Northwest League; this one coming from the Everett Aquasox:

Everett Aquasox 8-7

The Aquasox sent me these pocket schedules. I was happy to finally get something that league.

Sent: August 2, 2013

Received: August 7, 2013- 5 Days

The Tri-City Valley Cats are great senders, so I was excited to find a fan pack from them in the mail. Here is what they sent:

Valley Cats 8-9 (2)

– Magnetic Schedule

– Gameday Magazine

Valley Cats 8-9

– HOF card- John Joseph Evers

– 2013 Pocket Schedule

Sent: July 28, 2013

Received: August 9, 2013- 12 Days

If you’ve been reading this blog since it began back in January, you might have noticed a lot of fan packs from the Clearwater Threshers- that’s because they send me their program, “Thresher Times”. I don’t know why, but I want every issue of it. Here is one of the fan packs they sent me:

Threshers 8-12

– 2013 Pocket Schedules, Ticket info

Threshers 8-12 (2)

A new issue of Thresher Times!

– Sent: July 28, 2013

– Received: August 12, 2013- 15 Days

The next item wasn’t a fan pack- it was an autograph, coming from Royal Jeremy Guthrie:

Guthrie 8-21

I sent this out in APRIL hoping it would be a quick return, and when I found this in the mailbox, I noticed it came from Detroit. Turns out, the Royals were playing in Detroit when I got this:

Sent: April 13, 2013

Received: August 21, 2013- 130 Days (3 days short of setting the record for longest return time)

The final thing in this post came from Roger Dean Stadium- you might remember that name from other posts on this blog. I read online that they were sending mini-pennants and baseball caps, so I told them that I live 30 minutes away and that I go to a bunch of games there. Here is what they sent:

Roger Dean FP 8-29 (2)

2013 Magnetic Schedule- already had it

4 baseball cards that I didn’t previously own

Roger Dean FP 8-29

Gameday Magazine- you will see it in another post. I’m still happy to get this stuff for free, considering the amount of stuff I buy up there.

That is it for this post. I went to a baseball game on the 11th (over a month ago) at Roger Dean Stadium, and I have some mail (not as much as Aug.) in September to recap next week, so stay tuned! Thanks for reading, and thanks to the generous baseball teams for the fan packs!

Mail- June 23- July 20

Sorry for the long wait. I have been busy since my vacation, and I am still working on the posts on the Barons and Biscuits. Now I am back, and I am ready to update everyone.

On July 3, I hopped on a plane to Birmingham, Alabama, to visit my grandparents. I didn’t get to post anything about the mail from the last week of June, and while I was gone, I got some mail (my mom was at home writing the dates on the envelopes for me). Here is everything I got, starting with June 24:

Tides 6-24

The Norfolk Tides sent me four 2013 pocket schedules.

Sent: June 19, 2013

Received: June 24, 2013- 5 Days

Mud Hens 6-24

Mud Hens 6-24 (2)

The Toledo Mud Hens sent 2 pocket schedules, an issue of Muddy Times, a 2013 Magnetic Schedule (which, somehow, I didn’t photograph), and stats/pictures on some printer-paper.

Sent: Jun 19, 2013

Received: Jun 24, 2013- 5 Days

Keys 6-24

The Frederick Keys sent me the first Carolina League fan pack I have ever received, and inside was two pocket schedules.

Sent: Jun 20, 2013

Received: Jun 24, 2013- 4 Days

On June 28th, I received a envelope from the Hickory Crawdads. I thought it was great to get this because, last year, the Crawdads said I needed to send a SASE.

CDads 6-28 2

Sent: June 22, 2013

Received: June 28, 2013- 6 Days

Back in early June, I made the trip to Tampa, FL, and got to see a game inside the ugly Tropicana Field. We drove through Lakeland, FL, to get to Tampa. The Detroit Tigers Spring Training facility resides there, and their A-Advanced team, the Flying Tigers, play there. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to visit Joker Merchant Stadium, but the Flying Tigers did send me these pocket schedules:

F Tigers 6-29

They also sent some fan club information, but I didn’t photograph it.

Sent: June 21, 2013

Received: June 29, 2013- 8 Days

The Clearwater Threshers also play near Tampa, and I wasn’t able to see BriteHouse Field. However, they have been sending me fan packs for a while, and this was my third:

Threshers 7-1

Sent: June 21, 2013

Received: July 1, 2013- 10 Days

I left for Birmingham on July 3rd, so everything else I got came when I was on vacation. The Tennessee Smokies and the St. Louis Cardinals both sent fan packs and I received them on July 6th:

Smokies 7-6 2

Sent: June 2, 2013

Received: July 6th, 2013- 34 Days

STL Cards 7-6

The Cardinals sent:

1 Sticker

1 Adam Wainwright card

1 Cardinals in the Community

1 Thank You note

1 Tattoo- “End Prostate Cancer”

Sent: June 9, 2013

Received: July 6th, 2013- 27 Days

The Brewers have sent me a couple of fan packs in the past, and on July 8th, I got another one:

Brew 7-8 2

1 2012 Team Photo

Brew 7-8 3

2 Player Cards

3 Stickers

1 2013 Pocket Schedule

The Brewers also sent a Game Day Magazine, but I didn’t photograph it.

Sent: June 2, 2013

Received: July 8th, 2013- 36 Days

While I was gone, I got some fan packs from teams that hadn’t sent anything previously- from the Cardinals, and also from the Lake Elsinore Storm of the California League:

Storm 7-10 4

1 2013 Magnetic Schedule (which was all messed up)

Storm 7-10 2

1 2013 Pocket Schedule

1 Autographed Thunder Card

1 Autographed “Play Ball” Magazine

1 Storm Sticker

Storm 7-10 3

1 Oversised Thunder Card

1 2012 Team Set of Baseball Cards

1 Tattoo

The Storm also sent a toothbrush and a pen.

Sent: June 21, 2013

Received: July 10th, 2013- 19 Days

The Rancho Cucamonga Quakes sent me a small fan pack:

Quake 7-15

1 Aftershock Card

1 2013 Pocket Schedule

Sent: June 21, 2013

Received: July 15, 2013- 23 Days

Last, but not least, the Binghamton Mets sent me this pocket schedule:

B Mets 7-16

Sent: June 1, 2013

Received: July 16, 2013- 45 Days

Thanks for reading, I will try to update everyone on the games soon!

Mail- Week of 6/2-6/8

If you might have noticed, I haven’t been getting much mail lately. I have been way behind on fan pack requests and I had several TTM requests that were out for a while. I was hoping for more mail, and I got it this week.

On June 3rd, I found two autographs in the mail. One of them was from Dallas, TX, which was weird considering I hadn’t mailed anything to the Rangers this season. It turns out the autograph was from Spring Training:

I sent this card to David Murphy back in February, and I was wondering where it could have been. I read online that he signs autographs TTM, so it was a little weird getting this in June- but I was happy to get it.

Sent: Feb. 12, 2013

Received: Jun 3, 2013- 111 Days, which is now my longest return time

The other autograph I got was from a former Red Sox and a current Athletic, Jed Lowrie:

I previously got this from him. This was a pretty nice autograph- if you look closely, he signed his Rookie Card.

Sent: May 25, 2013

Received: Jun 3, 2013- 9 Days

On my last day of 10th grade, June 6th, I came home to find two fan packs in the mail, and they came from the Red Sox and Yankees AA teams, the Sea Dogs and the Thunder:

They both sent identical fan packs, and even the dates are identical:

Sent: Jun 1, 2013

Received: Jun 6, 2013- 5 Days

Sent: Jun 1, 2013

Received: Jun 6, 2013- 5 Days

Last but not least, I got a fan pack from the Chicago White Sox on the 8th:

That is something from Lynn University covering my address. That was the closest thing to me.

– Pride Club

– Southpaw Appearances

– Publication Order Form

– Kids Club Membership (no, I didn’t get into Pride Club or a Kids Membership for free)

– A note thanking me for my interest in the White Sox

– Two Pocket Schedules

– One Sticker

I love the design of the White Sox pocket schedules this season. I have Alexi Ramirez, Adam Dunn, and now two Jake Peavy schedules.

Sent: Jun 2, 2013

Received: Jun 8, 2013- 6 Days

Thanks for reading, and thanks to Jed Lowrie, David Murphy, the SeaDogs, Thunder, and White Sox! I will have a post up about a some-what fun yet some-what crappy visit to Tropicana Field and a post about Busch Gardens- Tampa up soon.

Mail- Week of 5/12-5/18

I haven’t been getting a lot of mail recently. Back in August 2012 (when I didn’t have a blog), I got two or three things a day over a two week span. Now, I don’t get much. I need to ask for more fan packs.

Going back to 2012, the Rome Braves sent me an awesome fan pack that included a yearbook, towel, and thunder sticks. I was hoping for the same result when I got this in the mail on Mon. the 13th:

Here is what I got:

2012 Rome Braves Team Photo

Mascot Card

2013 Pocket Schedule

April Program

“Romey’s Rascal” Bracelet

Picture of State Mutual Stadium

(Another) Towel

2013 Magnet Schedule

The Rome Braves have the best Minor League Fan Pack, and I am waiting to see if anyone can break that. The Rochester Red Wings could have done it, but they charged $10 (they said they would send a yearbook, pocket schedules, baseball cards, etc.).

The other fan pack I got came on the same day, and it was from the New Britain Rock Cats:

They had a pretty nice fan pack:

2 Tattoos

2013 Pocket Schedule

Ben Revere Baseball Card

I think it’s weird that I got the Revere card after I got the one in the Walgreens pack. I still like it. I might even start a Ben Revere collection.

That was all I got. This week (5/19-5/25), I didn’t get anything, so on Saturday there will be a post on baseball cards. The game on 5/19 should be up shortly- I have been busy with schoolwork and MLB Ballpark Empire on Facebook- you should try it. Thanks for reading, and thanks to the Braves and the Rock Cats for the fan packs!

Mail- Week of 5/5-5/11

For those of you who don’t know, I request fan packs from nearly every team in baseball. I think it is a lot of fun to get something new in the mail from one of your favorite teams. I have received fan packs from about 50 baseball teams, which is just a fraction of all teams in MLB and MILB. Here is what I got last week:

It is a package from the Clearwater Threshers, an A+ affiliate of the Phillies. I got these items:

Ticket info, an issue of Thresher Times, and 2 2013 pocket schedules. This is identical to a fan pack I got last year from the Threshers, but unfortunately, I don’t have a post for it.

Sent: April 29, 2013

Received: May 10, 2013- 11 Days

I MIGHT be in Miami tomorrow, but my Mom said “Don’t count on it”, which means I will most likely be in Jupiter to watch the Hammerheads and the Cardinals for my 3rd Minor League game at Roger Dean Stadium and my 5th game there overall. Thanks for reading!

I will be at Roger Dean Stadium tomorrow to see the Hammerheads and the Cardinals.

Mail- Week of 3/30-4/6

I haven’t posted anything in a while, and I already have a lot of stuff to post. I know that the 30th and the 6th are both Saturdays, but I haven’t talked about the autograph I received on the 30th:

This is from Travis Snider. I didn’t know if I was going to get this autograph back, so I was glad to find it in my mailbox. Unfortunately, he signed it in ballpoint ink:

Sent: February 16, 2013

Received: March 30, 2013- 42 Days

The other mail I got that week was from the Tri-City Valley Cats. I previously sent them a request for pocket schedules, but because they are a Class A- SS team, I assumed they didn’t have great fan packs (or fan packs at all). Then, I read a post on 7000 Coliseum Way  about a Valley Cats fan pack, and I needed one. This is what I got:

They sent some awesome stuff:

– 2013 Calendar

– 2012 Team Yearbook

– Sticker

– H.O.F. Card- John Joseph Evers

I went to another high school game and I got some more mail, but not from teams or players. It is baseball-related mail, though. Thanks for reading, and thanks to Travis Snider and the Tri-City Valley Cats!
